Developing a method for total energy optimization of urban quarters on a example of the Aspang street

04.07.2016 - 03.07.2026
Research funding project

The project aims to develop a planning modell for a pilot area in Vienna, Aspang Street, which lies between the historical urban fabric and a passive-house settlement. The planned simulations, measurements and modelling will be used in a step by step process, supporting the scenarios of the physical planning for the pilot area. The both socio-spatial and micro-climate measures will be identified and tested in their efficiency, feasibility and transferability. The Planning modell will be developed in cooperation also with Stakeholders, representatives of the city government, local organizations and NGO's, based on the UHI strategic plan of City of Vienna.
