Educational Workshops to Democratize Cobot Technology

01.03.2022 - 30.06.2023
Research funding project

The motivation for the project is to reduce the lack of knowledge about cobot technology and to increase the acceptance and dissemination of the technology as a tool in manufacturing, especially in countries where access to this technology is only limited. Within the scope of this research project, the advantages and disadvantages of the blended learning approach (combination of face-to-face teaching and e-learning) with regard to learning success, user satisfaction and suitability will be evaluated in comparison to the learning concept of the 1-day face-to-face workshops used in 2021. DeCoTe (Democratize Cobot Technology) aims to create and implement a compact educational program introducing lay people (non-professionals) to cobot technology (collaborative robots). The educational program consists of an online course and a hands-on half-day classroom workshop, which will be conducted at different locations. In the online course, the theoretical foundations are laid for later practical implementation.
