CO2 Capture in Coal Combustion (CCCC)

01.11.2001 - 31.12.2006
Research funding project
The objective is to develop a new combustion technology, chemical-looping combsution (CLC), with inherent capture of CO2. The process has no energy penalty for the capture of CO2 since the separation is inherent, external devices for capture are avoided. Thus, the process should be less costly than other methods for CO2 separation. The goal is to include CLC in a combined cycle for fossil-fired power plants with no emission, high efficency and low costs.
