This diploma concerns the feed of biogas to the Austrian network for natural gas. The study concentrates on the production of biogas by fermentation. All necessary components for the required steps of process technology (gas production and cleaning) are described. The different methods for gas cleaning are evaluated. The feed of raw biogas is compared to the feed of prepared biogas with quality of natural gas. Finally the two basic concepts: use of biogas where it is produced and feed to natural gas network are compared energetically as well as ecologically.
