Autonomous SSETI/AMSAT-Conform Ground Station TU Vienna at the INTHFT, HJS
01.12.2007 - 30.06.2013
Scholarship
A ground station for low earth orbiting (LEO) satellites is built on the roof of the Institut for Communications and Radio Frequency Engineering. This ground station is not focused on a single satellite but will support different satellites similar to those of the SSETI program of the ESA which use AMSAT conform protocols. Conventional ground stations are dedicated to a single satellite, this ground stations will talk to multiple satellites sequentially. Possible satellites include research satellites of the ESA like the SSETI Explorer or the SSETI ESEO. Furthermore the ground station can be used for demonstrative purposes in teaching.
