The objective of the study is to assess the future demand for industrial zones in the Rhine valley region of Vorarlberg until 2030. It is methodically based on an analysis of sectoral and functional trends within the regional economy, including a survey among firms. The expected demand of industrial zones is calculated according to different scenarios. Finally, the total demand of industrial built-up areas will be differentiated by quantitative and qualitative criteria and confronted with the existing reserves of industrial areas in three defined sub-regions of the Rhine valley.
