A service-oriented architecture for a highly scalable intelligent video surveillance system
01.01.2009 - 30.06.2010
Research funding project
Security concepts for the protection of critical infrastructure are unimaginable without videobased surveillance systems these days. Traditional architectures do not provide the required scalability to implement widespread intelligent video surveillance systems. A service-oriented architecture as infrastructural basis of a highly scalable intelligent video surveillance system will be implemented and evaluated during the project iObserve NG. To provide state-of-the art features of modern video detection technology semantic interpretation of video content and fully automatic calibration of cameras will be integrated as services. Aspects of integration, scalability, data security, availability, extensibility and manageability will be considered in the system architecture and are to be analyzed and evaluated in practical operation.
