A Euro-Asia Partnership for Development Human Resource Capacity of Engineering Education in Afghanistan

Education and academia management project

The overall objective of the project is contribution to the improvement of engineering education in Afghanistan through building partnerships between European and Asian higher education institutions. The project duration is 3,5 years. The project partners are: 1) Slovak University of Technology, Slovakia (project grantholder and coordinator), 2) Vienna University of Technology, Austria, 3) Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand, 4) Kabul Polytechnic University, Afghanistan, 5) Herat University, Afghanistan, The main project activities include: - organisation of 4 workshops of the project management committee; - preparation and realisation of master degree studies for Afghan students at other project partner universities; - preparation and realisation of short training visits for Afghan university teachers at other project partner universities; - organisation of 3 scientific seminars. Expected results: Establishment of a partnership between European and Asian universities aiming at improvement of engineering education in Afghanistan. During the project, 10 Afghan young teachers with bachelor degree will increase their qualification to master degree at the other partner institutions, 15 Afghan teachers will be trained during short term visits organised at other project partner institutions, and at least 50% of all teachers of Afghan engineering higher education institutions will be trained during the seminars organised in Afghanistan.
