The pilot project "A Digital Model of the Vienna Hofburg Palace" has served to collect fundamental insights into useful digital reconstruction methods, data flows and the investment to be expected for a larger project involving the entire building complex and surrounding public spaces as well as differentiation according to construction periods. The digital model of the Vienna Hofburg Palace will provide a basis for the production of instructive images and image sequences which will facilitate scientific insights and subsequently constitute a useful information source for an interested public.
