(Un-)Securities in public spaces in consideration of gender and diversity in Baden, NÖ

In the context of the urban reneval planning in Baden, NÖ, problems appear with the local integration of marginalised groups of inhabitants on central places in the city. The Problems have been discussed in al ideological colored debate on the topic (Un-)securities in public spaces. Facing the increasing social disparities and the varying demand on the use of public spaces actors of the urban reneval in Baden inquired in differentiation of this ideological colored debatte how public spaces can be planned urbanistic and as social process so that the form and use of the public spaces (better) be up to the specific demands of (local) integration. The staff of the Centre of Sociology was asked to accomplish a attended diversity-and gender sensitive scientific research on the planning process and on the rebuiding of the central places. After mediation of socio-scientifc fundaments to the topic diversity and gender, diversity management and diversity- and gendersensitive planning adequate aims and methods for the rebuilding of the public spaces will be developed in the attended research.
