ÖROK-Formulation of Instruments and Measures for an Austrian Land & Soil Strategy

15.06.2022 - 14.10.2022
Assigned research project

The land & soil strategy for Austria should make a significant contribution to substantially reducing both land take and soil sealing by 2030. Accordingly, the goal of the land & soil strategy is to substantially reduce land take by settlement and traffic areas and the extent of newly sealed areas, with agricultural areas in particular being protected.

A large number of measures of the nominal and functional spatial planning law contribute to the achievement of the objectives, whereby all decision-makers at the federal, state and municipal level are required to use appropriate measures and instruments public administration as well as awareness-raising.

Of the diverse instruments and measures, those that make a particularly important contribution to the land & soil strategy for Austria should be named and described in terms of their mode of action and the achievement of their objectives.

The instruments and measures are to be presented in terms of content, text and scope in such a way that they correspond to the systematics of the soil strategy for Austria.
