386.2.1 Am Department für Geodäsie und Geoinformation der Technischen Universität Wien, Forschungsbereich Höhere Geodäsie, ist eine auf vier Jahre befristete Stelle als Universitätsassistent_in (Prädoc) (30 h / Woche) zu besetzen, voraussichtlich ab 1. Februar 2019. Die Bewerber_innen müssen zum Zeitpunkt des Stellenantritts ein einschlägiges Diplom- oder Masterstudium im Bereich der Geodäsie abgeschlossen haben bzw. eines gleichwertigen Universitätsstudiums im In- oder Ausland.
Der Forschungsbereich Höhere Geodäsie der TU Wien beschäftigt sich sehr intensiv mit dem Verfahren der geodätischen Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI). Die Aktivitäten betreffen das Erstellen von Beobachtungsplänen, das Korrelieren und Fringe-fitting, sowie die Auswertung der Beobachtungen zur Bestimmung von geodätischen Parametern. Ein besonderes Augenmerk wird in den nächsten Jahren auf die Weiterentwicklung der Expertise im Bereich der Korrelation und des Fringe-fitting gelegt.
Im Speziellen wird sich der/die Stelleninhaber_in um den Aufbau und die Optimierung der Korrelationskapazitäten am Vienna Scientific Cluster 4 (VSC-4) kümmern. Darüber hinaus wird er/sie auch neue Module der Vienna VLBI and Satellite Software (VieVS) entwickeln, um die gesamten Abläufe zu verbessern und zu automatisieren, speziell auch in Hinblick auf VGOS Daten.
Wir erwarten von den Bewerber_innen Kenntnisse im Bereich der VLBI Korrelation und des Fringe-fitting (Programme DiFX, HOPS/fourfit) sowie Vertrautheit mit dem Arbeiten in Linux-Umgebung. Des Weiteren sind Kenntnisse in Python erwünscht. Zusätzlich wird sie/er auch bei der Abhaltung von Lehrveranstaltungen der Studienrichtung Vermessung und Geoinformation der Technischen Universität Wien mitwirken. 386.2.2 The Research Unit Applied Statistics (ASTAT) of the Institute of Statistics and Mathematical Methods in Economics, TU Wien, invites applications for a postdoctoral assistant in Statistics or Machine Learning.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate is expected to conduct research in Statistics and to lead a high quality research program and actively contribute to the research at the institute. S/he will be expected to contribute to the teaching mission of the ASTAT department giving support to courses in the Bachelor and Master’s program of Statistics and Mathematical Methods in Economics. The contract is for a period of 6 years. The starting date is January 2019 or by mutual agreement.
Qualifications: The successful candidate will hold a PhD and have an excellent research profile in Statistics, or a related field.
Other skills: Knowledge of German is desirable but not necessary.
Salary Range: The monthly minimum salary is currently (in the collective agreement §49 (3) Pay Grade B1, Level 3) EUR 3.711,10 gross (14x per year). Prior experience may result in higher salary.

386.2.3 Eine Stelle für eine vollbeschäftigte Assistentin (40 Wochenstunden) an der Fakultät für Mathematik und Geoinformation ist ab sofort auf die Dauer von 6 Jahren zu besetzen.
Im Rahmen einer speziellen Maßnahme der Fakultät für Mathematik und Geoinformation zur Erhöhung des Frauenanteils beim wissenschaftlichen Personal wird eine vollbeschäftigte Assistentinnen-Stelle für das Fach "Mathematik" für eine Frau ausgeschrieben.
Das monatliche Mindestgehalt für diese Gehaltsgruppe beträgt derzeit EUR 3711,10 brutto (14 x jährlich).
