Staff Additional Functions (public roles)
Here you will find additional functions/public roles that employees of TU Wien can have and how these are assigned. The roles listed here are displayed in the TISS address book under ‘Additional functions’ for the respective organisational units as well as on the individual business cards. However, they are only displayed for logged-in users or for enquiries within the TU.
Address manager
The address managers manage contact data in TISS; such as correspondence address, telephone number, websites etc. of their organisational unit (within the respective level institute/department, research unit/department, research group/departmental group) in the TU Wien address book in TISS. Furthermore, address managers can also register/extend/remove "further employees" for their organisational unit.
On these pages of the Information Technology Solutions department (TU.it) there are also some functions available in the address manager's area of responsibility.
IT contact person
The IT contact persons are the contact points for the Information Technology Solutions department (TU.it) and the first point of contact for questions regarding workstation computer hardware and software at the organisational unit. If you have IT problems, you should contact the IT contact person of your organisational unit, who will then - if they are unable to help - they have to contact the responsible TU.it offices.
TUphone-appprover
TUphone approvers in an organisational unit are the contact persons for the Information Technology Solutions department (TU.it) for all TUphone agendas. Within their organisational unit, they coordinate the TUphone concerns of all employees, communicate them to TU.it or approve applications.
TUnet-approver
TUNET authorised users of an organisational unit are the contact persons for TU.it (IT Solutions) for all agendas of the TUNET campus network.
Within their organisational unit, they coordinate the TUNET concerns, in particular computer registrations, of all employees and communicate them to TU.it or approve applications.
First Aid Commissioner
These agents must be sufficiently equipped according to ASchG §26.Safety officer
Safety representatives
Safety representatives are employees who provide the employee and employers in their field of work with employee protector questions and, above all, represent the interests of the employees against the employer. Here they are particularly helpful to see, evaluate and possibly hang up all information, issues and issues related to employee protection. Safety representatives are voluntarily restored to the years of employer.
Fire warden
Fire wardens have a corresponding training and are appointed for a period of 4 years.

Assignment of public roles / additional functions
WHO can assign public roles / additional functions?
These can be assigned by each organization manager and address manager for the respective organizational unit.
For example, the director of the institute can assign public roles for the entire institute, and one research group leader can only assign the roles within the research group.
WHERE are the roles assigned?
In the tab Organization (purple) under address book you will find the menu item "address manager", with the appropriate authorization, you will come to the page "Edit organizational unit" - At the top of the right side of the page is the function "Edit roles".
On this page you can now assign the roles for the respective organizational unit.
HOW are public roles / additional functions assigned?
- Find the owner
- Select the role
- Select the respective organizational unit / sub-organizational unit for which the role should be assigned.
Here you will find some additional functions employees may have. These additional functions are displayed in your address book only TU-Intern. A list of all available responsibilities can be found here.
First Aid Assignee
The first-aid-assignee has to support first aid in case of injury or sudden illness. This person has to have an first-aid education as shown in §26 AschG.
Safety-person of trust (SVP)
The person of trust is someone that provides help in questions of work-safety and represents the interests of the employees in front of the employer. Therefore they have the right to have insight in all informations, facts and papers regarding work-safety. SVPs get named by the employer for four years (unsalaried).
Fire Warden
They have a certain training and are appointed for 4 years. (See the fire safety regulations of the TU Wien)
