After successful completion of the course, students are able to understand the findamentals of (hygro-thermal) building modelling and simulation. Thereby, an Introduction to computational Performance Modelling toold for different inquiries and assessment scales is provided.

This course introduces fundamentals and computational methods in building performance modeling. Topics include:

• modeling and design;
• overview of thermal domain knowledge;
• integration of performance simulation in computer-aided design;
• introduction to the application of advanced computational building simulation tools;
• case studies and design assignments on the application of simulation in the evaluation and improvement of building performance.

Students are requested to get an account at the EDV-Labor (www.archlab.tuwien.ac.at)
