Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to get familiar with a topic in the digital communications field and to give a talk about the mathematical and technical foundations of the topic or to realize a software implementation of a communication system.

Subject of course

Prof. Matz: Implementation of parts of a communications system standard in Matlab.

Prof. Goertz: Understanding and presentation of a recent publication in the fields of Digital Signal Processing, Source Coding, Transmission Engineering. The presentations will be by webmeeting on mutually agreed dates (from December 2020 onwards). Seminar topics:
