After successful completion of the course, students are able to work with software that is highly relevant in the field of mathematics.Topics covered in this class include
- Computer algebra package sympy- programming language Python (incl. relevant libraries)- text formatting system LaTeX (standard for math)- Design of scientific talks (based on LaTeX)
Programming and writing in Python3 and LaTeX. Practical exercises accompany the lecture.
Lecture + weekly exercise classes under supervision of tutors
The first exercise class takes place on Monday, March 11th
This course is part of the subject 'Programming' in the module 'Programming and numerical mathematics'
Evaluation of programming examples and of performance in class (attendance in the exercise class is mandatory)
