The integrated spatial inner city development concept for the Southern Alps region creates a concrete, long-term development perspective for the four inner cities (Bruneck, Hermagor, Lienz, Spittal/Drau). The inner city development concepts are embedded regionally in order to include cross-border spatial development in the project region. Since 2018, the strategic city network, which is funded by the Interreg project "SÜD ALPEN RAUM® Southern Alpine Cities", has been actively involved in rural development in the cross-border region. Quality inner development in the district towns is being implemented very successfully and consistently in the Southern Alpine Region. However, there is no overall concept for centre development and the measures taken so far need to be considered in an integrated way and further developed in a sustainable manner. The individual IUDCs are finally put into regional context and the synergetic effects for the region are elaborated.Within the framework of the P3 / Grand Design, the following topics will be dealt with in concrete terms:1. centre development concept with different focal points2. urban framework planning for selected development zones 3. regional synthesis and embedding of centre development An important focus of the coupled course is the cooperation and exchange of different actors on site in the planning area
