After successful completion of the course, students are able to.reflect on different curatorial concepts for the mediation and exhibiition of spatially relevant topics and to examine and select different mediation formats for their suitability for different target groups (especially students and their teachers). In doing so, they learn to develop positioning and to make topics of climate protection in spatial planning and architecture tangible. They acquire knowledge about the necessary process steps for the organization of exhibitions with accompanying programs (guided tours, excursions, workshops, lectures...). They will gain experience in the field of cooperation and communication with cultural and educational institutions.
The project is open to students of spatial planning and architecture. The team of lecturers would be pleased about an interdisciplinary occupation.
Students of architecture can receive ECTS for the project for a Master's module with 10 ECTS as well as for LVA 251.901 Learning in Educational Institutions Architectural Mediation & Research with 2 ECTS.
The course deals with the curation of an exhibition at the intersection of Arts, Science and Education. Climate-relevant topics of architecture and spatial planning are to be prepared and made accessible in a stimulating way for students aged 10-15 years. In addition to the exhibition concept and its stations and elements, the accompanying program in the form of guided tours, excursions, workshops and lectures will be developed. The aim is always a playful, experimental examination of the framework theme, as well as points of contact for the individual further development of educational work in the participating schools. The exhibition, including the accompanying program, is conceived as a pilot project for a growing exhibition designed to last 5 years. It is the prelude to an interfaculty networking and the establishment of a Science, Arts and Education - focus at the TU Vienna.
