Based on the course Ground Engineering and Soil Mechanics, in-depth knowledge is imparted, particularly in the areas of natural hazards, foundation engineering, soil dynamics, geothermal energy, geosynthetics and design.
On the basis of practice-oriented lectures by national and international experts, students will acquire in-depth knowledge of soil mechanics and ground engineering.
The course will be held online in the summer semester 2021. The meeting ID for the online lectures will be communicated via TISS-News or the corresponding TUWEL course. Examination mode in summer semester 2021: Exams will be held as "written online paper exams" until further notice. In this context, please refer to the COVID-19 Distance Examination Regulations of the Research Unit of Ground Engineering, Soil and Rock Mechanics. In case the holding of examinations in presence is permitted due to the requirements of the Federal Government or the TU Wien, a change to written examinations in presence is carried out. Examination duration and assessment scheme remain unaffected. Please note that starting from the summer semester 2017 programmable calculators are allowed during the written exam!

Please note that as of 19.11.2020 the Covid-19 distance examination regulations of the Research Unit for Ground Engineering, Soil and Rock Mechanics come into force and are valid until revoked!
