Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to...

  • explain the basics of financial mathematics and apply them in examples
  • explain the fundamental relationships of matrix and vector calculus and to solve the corresponding problems by calculation  
  • reproduce and apply basic approaches of graph theory
  • explain and calculate essential parameters of descriptive statistics, key index numbers and concentration measures
  • explain the basics of probability theory and selected probability distributions and solve them mathematically in application examples
  • explain the basic relationships of inferential statistics and to calculate simple examples

Written exam, 5 - 7 questions, examination duration 90 minutes

To obtain a positive assessment, at least 50% of the points to be awarded must be achieved.

The 3rd and 4th repetition must be completed in the form of a combined written and oral examination.

Note: New examination mode as of 2020S - i.e. from June 2020

Written exam, 5-7 questions from the 6 subject areas, examination duration 90 minutes
