Aim of course

Understanding of the design basics of membrane separation processes, calculation of important process characteristics. Scopes and limitations of various membrane applications. Training by calculation excercises.

Subject of course

Basics of membrane separation processes; mass transfer models; general apsects of membrane, module and process design; industrially important separations (reverse osmosis, nanofiltration, ultrafiltration, microfiltration, gas permeation, electrodialysis and others); process design approaches; case studies.
