After successful completion of the course, students are able to understand mobile communication technologies of 5. generation wireless networks. Especially in the field of MIMO technologies an in-depth understanding will be developed.

For 2021, the lecture is completely overhauled and presented in a modern distance-learning format.

The most important technologies of fifth generation mobile communication systems will be discussed. In addition, some important basis technologies of fourth generation systems will be presented.

The contents of the lecture will be provided via TUWEL using short video-lessons (10-20 min per lesson). In addition live question-and-answer sessions will be offered.

Each lesson will be followed by a short multple-choice test, to verify comprehension of the contents.

In addition, short papers and texts will be provided as a reading homework. Comprehension of the contents of these homeworks will again be checked using multiple-choice tests. If required, these papers/texts will also be discussed in live video sessions.

Matlab-examples will help to demonstrate important concepts introduced throughput the lecture.
