Practical experience in the area of
- Electromagnetic propagation for centimeter and millimeter waves on waveguides, and in free space, as well as in the presence of interacting objects (scattering, diffraction, Fresnel zones)
- Antenna types for these wavelengths
- System design: link budget
These practical aspects broaden the content of Chapters 10, 11, 12 and 13 of the course VU Wave Propagation.
preliminary discussion and organizational matters: March 11, 2019, 1.00 - 3.00 pm, SEM 389-2 (room no. CG0402).
This course consists of three lectures and a practical part.
Monday, 25 March 2019 from 4pm to 6pm, Sem 389 (CG0118): Propagation effects.Monday, 01 April 2019 from 3pm to 5pm, Sem 389 (CG0118): Antennas for such wavelengths.Tuesday, 10 April 2019, from 4pm to 6pm, Sem 389-2 (CG0402): System aspects.
Continuously, during the practical part, based on the final report by the group.
Successful completion of the exam "Wave Propagation" (course no. 389.064) is required (or equivalent).
The student must have at least 1 of the course(s) completed listed below:
