After successful completion of the course, students are able to measure effects in wave-propagation and verify the results. The students are able to design spread-spectrum systems and verify the design with simulations.
In this course you will perform measurements of radio channel, antenna gain and free space losses. Additionally, we will discuss properties of the multipath radio channels with different wavelengths (Fading - Rayleigh, Rice; Diversity - frequency, spatial). The measurements will be performed with the help of software defined radio and GNU Radio.
Finally, based on computer simulations, you will learn the basics of spread-spectrum technology with the focus on the following topics:

A preliminary discussion will be held on Wednesday, 23.3., at 15:00 as an online event. Attendance is compulsory at the preliminary discussion!
During this meeting, the group arrangement and the dates of the laboratory exercises will be arranged. If you cannot attend this meeting in person, please send a representative. Before the laboratory starts a brief exam has to be passed. The success of the laboratory depends on the brief exam, the work itself, the protocol and the final discussion.
