After successful completion of the course, students are able to measure effects in wave-propagation and verify the results. The students are able to conduct measurements on digital modulation formats and further more discuss their results in the presence of diverse impairments.
In this course you will perform measurements of radio channel, antenna gain and free space losses. Additionally, we will discuss properties of the multipath radio channels with different wavelengths (Fading - Rayleigh, Rice; Diversity - frequency, spatial). The measurements will be performed with the help of software defined radio and GNU Radio.
Different digital modulation formats will be investigated in both ideal and nonideal transmission situations. As signal source a vector signal generator will be used and for our measurements we will use a spectrum- and vector signal analyser.
The contents of the course will be presented with telecommunication experiments .
!!!IMPORTANT!!!
A preliminary discussion will be held on Thursday, 7.3., at 14:00 in seminar room CG0402. Attendance is compulsory at the preliminary discussion!
During this meeting, the group arrangement and the dates of the laboratory exercises will be arranged. If you cannot attend this meeting in person, please send a representative. All students who wish to attend "Lab Wireless Communications" this summer semester have to be subscribed to TISS, in order to be notified about any updates.
Before the laboratory starts a brief exam has to be passed. The success of the laboratory depends on the brief exam, the work itself, the protocol and the final discussion.
Register if you want to attend the labs.
