Basic concepts in digital signal processing.
Time domain description of signals and systems, frequency domain description, Fourier transform, sampling of analog signals, Z-transform, digital filters, discrete Fourier transform, FFT, multi-rate signal processing. Presentation of problems and simulations with MATLAB or OCTAVE, basic digital signal processing applications. The first part (time domain description up to difference equations) will be presented by Prof. Goertz. The second part (Z-transform up to multi-rate signal processing will be presented by Dr. Doblinger.
