Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to apply the comcept of metameterials to wide range of problem in the fields ranging from the electromagnetics to mechanics of solids, liquids and gases to provide new class of solutions

Subject of course

You will learn about: (1) general concept of material response on-demand;  (2) details of physics behind metamaterial; (3) novel optical components enabled by metamaterials; (4) twisting space for electromagnetic wave propagation (transformational optics) with metamaterials; (5) metamaterials beyond the optics applied to the material waves and to the heat transfer; all demonstrated by examples in optics, microwave technique and mechanics of the solid-state.
