Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to study an advanced photonic problem using literature research and possibly experimental work. They also are able to present the results in a scientifically correct form.

Literature search, numerical treatment and experimental work on photonics, THz Photonics, THz imaging with few-cycle THz pulses, electro-optic detection of THz pulses, THz generation with femtosecond lasers, Optoelectronics, Fabrication of a semiconductor laser, design of a laser based on quantized transitions, investigation of the mode spectrum, determination of the quantum efficiency, Generation of ultrashort pulses, applications of ultrashort pulses, generation of high harmonics
