After successful completion of the course, students are able to identify and justify technological solutions for implementing amplified and unamplified ultrashort laser systems according to various sets of demands, calculate fundamental parameters of laser and optical parametric systems and measure diverse output parameters of pulsed laser sources.
A broad introduction into the basic optical and electronic processes and methods (such as broadband laser- and optical parametric amplification, optical pulse compression, optical frequancy conversion, limits of optical and laser materials, modern measurement methods of ultrashort laser pulses, etc.)
Conventional lecture with praktical demonstrations.
Oral examination, two questions covering the entire subject matter, one-hour preparation time with open sources.
