Understanding microcomputer technologies and programming the Siemens C167.

Instruction set 80C167, pipelining, memory sytems and management, I/O handling, Interfacing (interrupts, control of peripherals), ... Design and implementation of digital systems using microprocessors, memories and peripheral devices: experiencing problems of interconnection in the practical setup. Programming microprocessors by means of the Siemens C167.

The microcomputer UE (384.056) is separated into 2 parts: exercise and laboratory. The laboratory part will take place in the following summer semester. In the exercise part the microcontroller XC166 is presented. The exercise will be shared with the corresponding VO Mikrocomputer (384.104). There is a list available of the particular dates at the webpage for the microcomputer UE. Attendance is unsolicited. A test is held after the exercise part finishes, at the end of the winter semester. Please note: It is required to pass the test in order to proceed with the laboratory part. During laboratory, students in groups of 2 work on a practical problem with the XC166. Every group has 3 days for work. The actual dates will be published after the test. For your information: The exercise part will take place in the following summer semester. The attendance to the laboratory is compulsory.
