Properties

  • Semester hours: 1.5
  • Credits: 2.25
  • Type: VO Lecture
  • Format: Online

Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to understand surface acoustic wave components and to choose saw filter and resonator devices  for application in communication systems. Knowledge of further special saw components complete the learning goals.

Subject of course

Surface acoustic wave devices (SAW) are applied in a continously growing number in almost every (but not only) mobile communication system, but they are almost not present in the education. The lecture willl introduce into the topic. It also gives practical hints and applications dealing with SAW devices.

Teaching methods

The lecture will be held as presentation, the students are continuously invited to discuss and cross-network with other disciplines of data communication, physics and signal processing.

The winter semester 2021/22 will again be held as a digital VO. In addition to the presentation slides, those registered will be provided with a verbalized summary and a catalog of topics in time via TISS.
