After successful completion of the course, students are able to conduct a small-size scientific project from literature search, experiment design, and collecting experiment data. Especially students are able to write a scientific report in a proper academic style that requires for master thesis work for graduation. In the project, students gain deep knowledge and experience for the chosen research topics and are able to explain the current state of the art and challenges in the topic.

The individual projects are given in selected topics from the following list:
Students will have a lab space or study environment to conduct short research on a specific topic, including literature search, simulation study, and experiment design and validation based on the guidance of the supervisor. The progress of the individual project are presented two times to supervisors and other students and the final report is written to conclude the result of the project. At the beginning of the project, a lecture is given to support efficient project management and successful scientific research activities, and to guide scientific writing for a well-written final report.
Two presentations (interim presentation, final presentation), final report, communication and cooperation with supervisors, work in the lab, analysis and presentation of achieved results.
The grading considers all point mentioned before and reflects the individual challenges of the projects.
The registration for the course is required for administrative purposes.
