Aim of course

The objective is to introduce various methods used for modelling energy economics and to provide the capabilities to apply the gained knowledge on simple problems.

Subject of course

The lecture presents an overview of different types of models used in energy economics ranging from econometric methods such as time-series and cross-sectional approaches, simulations and optimisation frameworks (linear programming) to energy systems-engineering and macroeconomic models. It includes development of energy scenarios and projections, energy policies and price formation in regulated and liberalized energy markets.
