After successful completion of the course, students are able to explain quantities and laws, energy and forces in the current flow, electric and magnetic field, to understand general and local quantities of the electromagnetic field as well as the basic electrical circuit elements, to calculate simple circuits in DC, single-phase and three-phase AC networks, to explain the operational characteristics of transformers and electrical machines and to calculate the operating behaviour of simple electric drive systems, finally to know basic measuring instruments in electrical engineering and to apply measuring techniques.
The written examination consists of two calculation examples and a theoretical part with ten sub-questions (multiple-choice). For some sub-questions you have to do calculations, but the computational effort is much lower than the two calculation examples.
ATTENTION: The test is carried out with Letto. You receive the exam via web application and enter the solutions there also. You perform the calculations on paper. More information on this can be found in the download section.
