After successful completion of the course, students are able to:

• solve simple problems in the field of digital systems
• understand and interpret the basic principles of modern semiconductor elements with special focus on power electronic components
• understand principle and operation of simple electronic circuits as well as power converters and inverters also when in combination with DC machines

• Fundamentals of physics and technology of semiconductors
• Components and circuits of electronics and power electronics
• Fundamentals of electric drives

Step by step description of concepts and system properties supported by simulation models that can be run individually at the students computers.

The lectures 372.747 and 372.748 are either held alternatively or one after another. Additional information is being presented in the first lecture.
