Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to understand the basic knowledge on field oriented control of permanent magnet excited synchronous machines and asynchronous induction motors

Subject of course

Structure of an ac drive with microprocessor. Functional blocks of the drive, implementation of motor models and control algorithms, inverter control. Induction motor: Field-oriented control, detecting magnetic flux, control using decoupling networks, speed and position control. Permanent magnet synchronous motor: Construction and properties, rotor-oriented control. Synchronous motor: Stator flux-oriented control.
