After successful completion of the course, students are able to identify the existing structure of a two-axes positioning system as wel as to design and commision the individual control loops, finished by verification of the resulting control performance.
Specific features of positioning tasks. Derivation of model equations and control structure. Tuning of the individual control loops. Parameter optimisation using different objectives.
The whole system can be operated using a PC. detailed notes lead through the mesurement calculation steps. After completion of identification and calculation, the results can be tested and verified on the real sytstem.
This laboratory is part of a power electronics and motion control course offered by different european universities. (see also www.pemcweblab.com - "module 4.3 high dynamic drives - motion control") The test stand can be remotely controlled via internet. The practical measurememts can thus be performed from any PC with internet connection.
Each individual identification and calculation step is checked and verified. A documentation of all necessary steps has to be done.
