After successful completion of the course, students are able to describe, discuss and to some extent apply methods to evaluate the possible impact of positive energy districts (PEDs) on energy justice, energy poverty and related regulatory challenges. Moreover, students are able to explain scenario based foresight methods and in particular agent based modelling approaches. Third, students will improve their skills in communicating their work to non-academic persons and stakeholders.
Thus, there will be following three parts of the winter school: (1) The students will learn about methods how to evaluate the possible impact of PEDs on energy justice, energy poverty and related regulatory challenges. (2) A second focus will be on the relevance of stakeholders and scenario based foresight methods, in particular related to agent based modelling approaches. Students will present, discuss and peer-review their PhD studies in this context. (3) Finally, as a third element, students will learn how to communicate their work to non-academic persons and stakeholders.
The course will be split into the following topics:
- Impact Evaluation and Regulatory Challenges of PEDs on energy justice
- Fuel Poverty Monitor - Measuring the impact of PEDs
- Influencing Stakeholders and Scenario Based Foresight, an Agent based Modelling approach
Empowering Innovation Capacity Clinic: Exploring the Virtual World: communicating, engaging, trending,
