After successful completion of the course, students are able to  Types of regulation, Historical development of regulation in EU, Microeconomic foundations, Types of price regulation measures, market structures, Unbundling, Recent experiences with deregulation and liberalization to understand.

The emphasis is on the following topics: 1. Salient reasons and motives for regulation, 2. Types of regulation; 3. Historical development of regulation in EU; 4. Microeconomic foundations; 5. Types of price regulation measures; 6.market structures; 7. Unbundling; 8. Recent experiences with deregulation and liberalization; 9. Future perspectives.
