After successful completion of the course, students are able to be oriented in the scientific literature of the smart grid area, to form their own opinion and to express their views critically. By recognizing the basic principles of the various Smart Grid concepts, the students will be quickly integrated into smart grid projects and work effectively.
Several topics on the Smart Grid area are studied in this course with emphasis on:
1.Virtual Power Plants 2.Microgrids 3.Link paradigm 4.Smart Grid Architectures In the first part of the seminar students are requested to collect material on some aspect of the above topics and prepare a written report and an poster presentation (Poster template is included in TISS). A poster workshop will be organized, in which students will work in different groups to summarize the results of the literature in one of the concepts discussed during the course.
In the second part of the seminar, an industry expert will report about the smart grids and the students will have the possibility to make questions related to their theme. Students will then be requested to extend their written report from the first part by a brief reflection (1-2 pages) with the concrete industry experiences.
Student-centered method
Proof of achievement consists of three parts:1. Poster preparation and presentation 2. Active participation in poster discussions3. Written report on the chosen topic
