After successful completion of the course, students are able to calculate the operating parameters of overhead lines and asymmetrical operating states in electrical networks. They can also carry out calculations for photovoltaic systems, wind turbines and virtual power plants, as well as the grid control. After successfully completing the course, students are also able to understand the concept of energy services and electricity markets and to carry out statistical analyzes of electricity prices and generation data from generation units. They can perform profitability and investment calculations as well as calculations of the market value of photovoltaic systems and wind turbines.
Each of the following topics are covered in one or two afternoon sessions:
1. Energy Economics a. Introduction in energy economics b. Introduction to Python + Jupyter Notebook c. Modeling of PV power generation d. Economic calculation for PV acquisition in households e. Statistical analysis of electricity prices and generation data
2. Electrical Systems a. Operating parameters of overhead lines and cables b. Calculation of imbalanced operating conditions c. Photovoltaic plants d. Wind power plants e. Network control, Virtual power plants
