The principles of energy systems are demonstrated, which are necessary for the design an the lay out of energy systeme and for the valuation of the requirements for power quality.
Requirements for energy supply: reliability, security, economy. Structure of energy systems: energy conversion, transmission and distribution. Principles of design and simulation of energy systems. Energy management: load forecast, primary and secondary control, bilancing groups and bilancing energy. Requirements for energy supply in public, industrial and faciltiy networks seen form the consumer.

Beginning in January 2015, there will be only a written exam for the lecture. That written exam will no longer consist of 4 calculation problems plus the 5 safety rules, but 3 calculation problems, the 5 safety rules and a block of text questions (with maximum score like one calculation problem).
The mandatory oral exam will no longer be required for those who pass the new written exam.Those students which already have passed the written exam until December 2014, still have to pass the mandatory oral exam, too, within 3 years after the written exam. Additionally to the dates for oral exams given in the TISS system, individual dates for 2015 and beyond can be applied for at pruefung@ea.tuwien.ac.at.
