Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to identify both relevant reserach trends and possible partner institutions to be integrated into a consortium.. Participants will know the criteria of successful research proposals on European level.

Subject of course

CORDIS website, the gateway to European research and development, national contact points and institutions offering support to potential applicants, structure of Framework Programmes, identification of relevant calls, identification of promising research topics, cooperation with technology platforms (of relevance esp. in ICT and NMP domain), proposal writing and constituting an effective consortium, the evaluation process and how to be inline with it's requirements, the recognizability of excellence, negotiations and implementation, cost categories, reporting, the new responsibility for dissemination, exploitation and standardization, reviewing, auditing, paths to guarantee sustainability of research efforts

Teaching methods

Analysis of trends and tendences of research on European level, finding the relevant information on EU website, analysis of quality aspects of (successful) proposals, training of fundamental skills in project management
