Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to solve close to practice handling and assembly tasks in micro dimension and have the skill to evaluate the selected solutions (working physical effects and design of grippers).

Subject of course

Trends in micro and nano handling, functional requirements for grippers, endeffectors and handling stations (micro/ nano robots), automated micro/nano handling: problems and challenges, experience and results from EU project ASSEMIC (coordinated by the lecturer), special focus: handling of carbo nano tubes CNTs, approaches for improving reliability and troughput, aspects of standardization on national and European level, material testing, aspects of health and safety in the use of nano materials.

Teaching methods

presentation of case studies, analysis of assembly requirements for hybrid microsystems, patents and available Equipment - distance learning based on audio and video transfer of content.

Additional information

Dates for distance learning blocks by arrangement with the participants. Access to training content will be opened well in advance. Technical equipment needed: device for participation in online meetings allowing audio and video transmission.
