After successful completion of the course, students are able to categorise different sensory procedures, to summarise the underlying problems in complementary fields of sensor technology and to describe the corresponding solutions, to explicate specific features of acoustic sensors as well as to discuss human acoustic perception.
The lecture presents a survey of the most important sensors used in industry and of new sensor developments: Sensors for mechanical quantities, thermal sensors, chemical sensors, magnetic sensors, optical sensors. The various sensors are discussed with respect to their function, technology and possible applications. The lecture refers to the actual state of the art of microelectronic sensor technologies.
IMPORTANT:
Due to the Covid-19 situation, the lecture is offered in a distance learning format this semester.
To ensure that all students receive the links to the online lecture in a timely manner, we ask for registration in TISS.
The respective link will be sent to all registered participants the day before the lecture. The number of registrations is not limited.
