After successful completion of the course, students are able to categorise different sensory procedures, to summarise the underlying problems in complementary fields of sensor techno
o describe the corresponding solutions, to explicate specific features of acoustic sensors as well as to discuss human acoustic perception.
The lecture presents a survey of the most important sensors used in industry and of new sensor developments: Sensors for mechanical quantities, thermal sensors, chemical sensors, magnetic sensors, optical sensors. The various sensors are discussed with respect to their function, technology and possible applications. The lecture refers to the actual state of the art of microelectronic sensor technologies.
NOTE:
This lecture takes place with "VU 366.092 Sensorics", but is reduced by the lab-part and the topics "lock-in amplifier" and "Noise".
However, the lab-part can be taken if you are interested.
Written exam at the end of the semester or oral exam by appointment.
For appointment request email to franz.keplinger@auwien.ac.at, appointment then usually within a few days.
