Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to analyze correlations between structure and properties of materials using simple and largely universal physical models.Furthermore, they will know the corresponding material parameters with their orders of magnitude and will be able to solve typical examples from the field of materials science.

Subject of course

Details, like lecture dates, please find in the German version.
The lecture is based on the book "G. Fasching: Materials for Electrical Engineering; (in German) Springer-Verlag, 2006".

Additional information

This lecture is not recognized as a free elective for the electrical engineering program because of the overlap with "Werkstoffe" LVA 366.104.

ATTENTION:

The VO Materials 366.104 is called "Materials for Electrical Engineering" (VO) from 2024S and has the LVA-No. 366.109.
Starting with 2024S, this course will only be held in the summer semester.
For this reason, VU 366.050 Materials for MS will also be held only in the summer semester starting in 2024S.

As a transition, 366.104 AND 366.050 will be offered in 2023W one last time.
