After successful completion of the course, students are able to know and to distinguish market, technology and applications of short range wireless communication systems like Bluetooth, ZigBee, Z-Wave, LoRa, 802.11, etc., to have knowledge of the legal framework, standardization and of integration into electronic systems.
Short range wireless will be discussed from different points of view, e.g. history, application, trends, standardisation, technology, ... . Basics of Radio Communication are presented with focus to specific topics in physical layer, MAC, Security and protocols above.
The lecture is held as presentation. The students are invited to discuss own experience and own projects in the context of wireless networking. The slides are available as pdf file.
Due to the pandemic situation it can be neccessary to adopt the format of the lecture as in the past two years. Additional documents to enalbe self-study will be available then.
Online Mode - optional
If its neccessary to change to online mode due to requirements of the University or public health, der lecture and the exam will be held in online mode.

The rating of the written elaboration will be calculated from the level of accuracy and completeness (and avoidance of copy&paste).

The exam is held in written (open book) mode at the end of the last block.
In online mode and instead of the written exam you are requested to give a written summary (in pdf Format per email) to an individual topic.
