Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to

explain the structure of eukaryotic cells
select appropriate microscopy methods for biological materials according to the question
develop a strategy for the comprehensive analysis of biological and inorganic materials
to name and explain the methods behind the abbreviations TEM, SEM, EDX, AFM, XRM, XRD, LC, GC, MS
to understand the use of electrophoresis for the analysis of proteins and DNA
to explain the basics of the impedance of biological materials and living cells
discuss stimulus conduction and signal processing in the human brain
understand interaction mechanisms and assess dangers of low frequency electrical and magnetical fields with biological tissue
understand interaction mechanisms and assess dangers of high frequency electromagnetic fields with biological tissue
understand interaction mechanisms and assess dangers of ionizing and non-ionizing radiation with biological tissue
assign electrical methods for biophysical purposes.
