Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to

  • derive analytical solutions for simple quantum mechanical systems and processes.
  • Develop computer code to numerically solve quantum mechanical problems.

Subject of course

This exercise course runs in parallel with the lecture Quantum Electronics. One part of this course deals with the analytical solution of problems related to the lecture. In the second part students will implement numerical solution methods. In this way more complex quantum systems can be addressed that are not amenable to analytical methods Choice of the programming language is up to the student. Most frequently phyton or matlab are used.

Calculation exercises and simulation tasks with a discussion of the results.

Die Vorbesprechung findet am 3. Oktober 2018 gemeinsam mit der Vorbesprechung der Vorlesung Quantenelektronik statt (ab 9:15 im Hörsaal EI3 a).
